Race Safety

BMX racing can be dangerous

Cumbernauld Centurions BMX Club are committed to reducing the risk of injury at all times and this is especially true during race events where visitors may not be familiar with the track and timescales are tight.

So as a member or visiting racer, please ensure that you abide by the summarised points below and for more detail please see the BC Code of Conduct and the BMX Rulebook

DO ensure that only riders who have registered and paid to race access the track for practice.
Once on the track, only full laps are to be completed, DON’T stop on berms. DO keep moving, please DON’T cut across the track.
Gates and practice will be split into two groups 14yrs and under and 15+. DO ensure that you only ride on the track at your alloted time otherwise you may find yourself excluded from racing by the Head Marshall and unfortunately no refund will be given.
The area behind the start gate is narrow and therefore CANNOT be crowded, DO remember that riders are to stay at the holding area until called forward to race or practice. There is plenty of spectator area around the track so please use it. Please DON’T congregate on the start hill as the return from the finish must pass through it.
Please note, there will be no access for spectators in the start area, so please DON’T congregate there otherwise you will be asked to move, failing this, exclusion will be enforced or points deducted. So please pay attention and above all enjoy the Racing.
